Global Ncap ratings for Kia Seltos and Hyundai grand i10 nios revealed

There were three cars including Maruti Spresso, Kia Seltos, and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios that were being tested under the Global NCAP and have received the ratings according to their safety performance.

Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos price starts at nearly 11.20 lacs on-road and 21 lacs on-road for the top end GTX plus variant. According to the price segment, the ratings are not that satisfying and should have done better if Kia had worked on the safety offerings more than increasing the features of the car because the car had secured a 3-star rating for the adult occupants and for child occupant safety this car had been rated just 2 stars. Under the frontal impact test, the Kia Seltos HTE variant was being tested which comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and disc brakes were there on the offer that is standard across all the variants but when this rating is compared to the Australian Kia Seltos there were many safety features on the offer as standard due to which it secured 5-star rating which is far better than the Indian Kia Seltos which should have secured at least a 4 star for adult occupant safety.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

In India, the price for the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios starts at 5.76 lacs on road for the Era Variant and goes till 9.61 lacs on road for the Asta diesel variant. The Grand i10 Nios was expected to secure at least 3 stars but unfortunately, this car got a 2-star rating for the adult occupant safety and a 2-star rating for child occupant. Hyundai cars often do much better in the global markets with a great number of safety features and also offers better build quality than the Indian version. The variant that was tested was the sports variant that comes with all the standard safety features but like the Maruti Swift, this one also secured the same rating despite being equipped with dual airbags and ABS with EBD on the offer and after this Hyundai is expected to work on the safety of the car. Besides the Kia Seltos and the Grand i10 Nios, the Maruti Spresso was also being tested and this car had secured nothing in terms of safety for adult occupants despite being equipped with a driver airbag and just like the other two cars this one also got a 2-star rating in terms of safety for child occupant.
