After the Global NCAP ratings of popular cars like the Kia Seltos and the Grand i10 Nios were revealed there was a lot of dissatisfaction as they sell in large numbers but are small in numbers only due to safety. Mahindra had been well known for its well-built car like the XUV300 and later on they also updated the Thar with better features and safety.
Recently Global NCAP had revealed the safety ratings for the Mahindra Thar 2020 which had recently scored 4 stars for the adult occupant safety and also 4-star ratings for the child occupant. In terms of safety, the Thar comes with dual airbags and ABD with EBD as standard. Despite the presence of airbags and an anti-lock braking system, many popular cars didn't score well however the body shell integrity of the Thar had proved to be stable. One thing that cannot be forgotten is that in the case of the side impact the Thar was rated as a pass and like Mahindra global manufacturers are expected to build better cars as safety is very important in every car.
