The Nexon EV boasts a better design that's much better than its predecessor. That's due to the inspiration that it takes from the Curvv concept that Tata Motors showcased at Auto Expo 2023. One will definitely appreciate the Curvv-inspired design over the Range Rover-inspired design of the Nexon EV. Be it the alloy wheels or any side, the Nexon EV is one of the most stellar Electric Crossover in the market. One of the most appealing things about the design is surely the matrix indicators available with Empowered trim. The matrix indicators on the outside definitely attract a lot of attention and make an addition to the aesthetics of the crossover. Overall, this definitely deserves a better rating for its appeal in terms of design.
Tata Nexon EV Review: What's on the inside?
There is nothing to complain about the design of the Nexon EV which looks both futuristic and ferocious. It boasts a plethora of features from cinematic touchscreen to the digital steering wheel. It does give a feeling like one is driving a mini Curvv. Some of the massive improvements include a cinematic touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. One should check the 360-degree camera that has a sharper resolution over the previous facelift of the Nexon EV. It does show all the objects with clarity. Rest, JBL speakers are present for the stellar audio quality on offer. Everything just feels better from features to everything inside the car. Tata Motors even changed the gear knob which feels premium on the inside. Overall, it deserves an outstanding rating for its design and features.
The Drive Experience of the Nexon EV
Coming to the drive experience, the Nexon EV boasts a comfortable driving experience that makes it a perfect family crossover. There is no compromise on driving experience because of its typical EV characteristics. During my short drive, I personally found the steering wheel to be on the lighter side of city driving. Its predecessor has a heavier steering wheel but this two-spoke unit feels better in driving. High-speed driving is something I will comment on whenever I will drive the car for a longer duration. Performance definitely remains uncomprimised and acceleration is also brisk when one puts the foot on the accelerator. This is something that one will feel in sports mode. Eco mode just robs away the performance because it saves charge but not a usual mode for sportier driving.
It was the first time I got to do a test of the lights which does ensure better visibility on the roads. Lighting is something that's a major concern and doesn't let you feel blind on the roads. Rest, drive the car yourself if you want to experience the Nexon EV.
Safety of the Nexon EV
Build quality is definitely amazing on the Nexon EV. Everyone has concern for safety which Nexon EV fulfills in an uncomprimised manner. It does 6-airbags as a standard and also a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Safety is something where Tata Motors has very high standards in the Indian market. That's something one will like about the car.
If talking about my final conclusion, my preference would be the Nexon EV if I need a perfect family car for a longer duration. It's something I am saying after my first drive with the car.
